On Writing

I have decided to write, I made this decision approximately three and a half years ago and am now happy that I'm atleast partially carrying it out. I almost did it a year ago, when I wrote a blog about insomnia (you can read it below I guess), but before I could publish it, my current supply wonked out and I was left without the power of the internet beneath my fingers. Fighting hysteria, I waited for the current to come, but alas I could not find my draft. Imagine my surprise when I log in today and find my draft well and alive after all these years, I published it of course and immediately set out to write my second one.

There's just this teensy problem of me having nothing to write about, but don't worry, I have found a way around it, I'll just write about how I have nothing to write about, brilliant right? well, here we go:

(Half hour passes) OK, I apparently can't even write about how I have nothing to write about. Inspiration has eluded me for a wrong time, no spark in my life. I want anyone whose reading to know that I have passed through a prolonged trough of creativity in my life. One of the reasons I'm taking up blogging is because I've always been passionate about writing, I just could never get down to it, not anymore. I am going to reclaim my life and this blog is just the beginning.

Hey, that was pretty good, looks like doing nothing for a half hour can have some good after all. Until I find my next hot topic to write about, goodbye.

B Schools and Insomnia

It started off as a simple bet with myself, can I go for 24 hours without sleep. I won, albeit against myself, but still I won, but ever since then my body refuses to go to sleep any time before 4:00 am. Of course Sports and exercise help a bit but on any given day, it is preeeeeety difficult for me to get my forty winks. Oh, and that first line that I wrote about the bet with myself, that was just to dramtize things, It's not like my insomnia set in out of the blue. It was a gradual process, and it began a few weeks i joined business school.

I should mention that b-school is the first time I stay in a hostel, and the new found freedom was a little dizzying, in my house, it wasn't a problem because everybody would be down by 10, and I had to follow suit. But, here, I had a TV next door, I had an internet connected laptop in my room, and I guess I lost it. I really don't know how it began, it just sort of creeped up on me and now I guess I'm trapped.

But it's not like I'm panicking or anything, I actually like the time I get in the nights (I'm writing this this blog at 3:00 am). It's just that I now KNOW it is not good for my health or social life. I haven't really read up on insomnia or anything, I rarely do that kind of stuff. I just had this sudden realization that this could be a problem, and am now writing it for the whole world to hear.

The only thing that comes to my mind is this Al Pacino film that I saw once, I don't even remember the name, but he has terrible insomnia and he DIES at the end because of it, now that can't be good right?

It's not like this blog is a cry for help, that's the last thing I want you guys to take away. I'm just in a very confused state right now, and trying to depict that state of mind as accurately as possible. Pretty oxymoronic I know but that's the kind of guy I'am

Anyway, writing this blog is thankfully making me feel a little sleepy, so I'm signing off, if you have read this crap till the end, just let me know what you think about it, read, leave me a comment :-)

Cheers
